In order to achieve the goal of having at least 40% of lower secondary school graduates continue their education at vocational education institutions by 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister, on the afternoon of March 6, Mien Trung Industry and Trade College (MITC) in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training (GD&ĐT) of Son Hoa district organized a workshop on career guidance and post-secondary education pathways.

Attending the workshop from the Department of Education and Training of Son Hoa district were Mr. Hoang Vu Anh – Head of Department, Ms. Ba Nguyen Viet Thu – Deputy Head of Department, and Mr. Huynh Bao Thang – Specialist in charge of Secondary Education. Representatives from secondary schools included principals and teachers from: Phuoc Tan, Ca Lui, Ea Cha Rang, Son Hoi, Nguyen Huu Tho, Son Nguyen, Suoi Trai, Son Phuoc, the district’s Ethnic Minority Boarding School, Krong Pa, Son Dinh, and Suoi Bac.

From Mien Trung Industry and Trade College, the workshop was attended by Dr. Tran Kim Quyen – Party Secretary, Rector of the School Board; Dr. Vo Thi My Nga – Chairperson of the Trade Union and Director of the Admissions & Enterprise Relations Center, along with faculty leaders from various departments of the college.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Tran Kim Quyen – Rector of the college, emphasized the role of career guidance and student pathways in the current educational context, while also introducing MITC’s training programs with majors aligned with labor market trends. Representing the Department of Education and Training of Son Hoa district, Mr. Hoang Vu Anh shared important insights about the direction of pathway planning in the coming period, emphasizing the necessity of connecting secondary schools with vocational education institutions to ensure learning and employment opportunities for students after graduation.

The workshop received many valuable inputs from delegates, especially support proposals from Rector and homeroom teachers from secondary schools for MITC to improve the effectiveness of career guidance. The event not only provided secondary schools with more information about post-secondary education paths for students but also opened opportunities for closer cooperation and connection between MITC and the general education system in the district.

With practical solutions proposed at the workshop, career guidance and student pathway planning after secondary school in Son Hoa district promises to make significant progress in the coming time, contributing to the effective implementation of the Government’s educational goals.
