Phu Yen was reviewed as one of the safe destinations of the country throughout the previous three outbreaks and selected to stimulate tourism. However, the province can not avoid the attack of the fourth wave of the pandemic due to the high transmission of the Delta variant. There have been over 2500 cases in Phu Yen so far, negatively affecting the lives of the gentle and hospitable residents.

MITC’s tuition fees relief package of 7-10 billion VND to help students overcome difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To cope with difficulties, Phu Yên authorities, agencies, and organizations have taken action in the fight against the pandemic. With the motto of Leaving no one behind, the local leaders have called for support from charities, philanthropists, and private businesses to donate materials, supplies, and labor. The province has organized busses carrying Phu Yen citizens working and studying in Saigon, Binh Duong, Dong Nan to return home safely.

With the solidarity spirit of the school, we have mobilized various resources to provide front lines workers, concentrated isolation places, and block down areas with equipment, supplies, and labor.

In response to the program launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to provide computers and telecommunications services for pupils and students living in areas hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, on the morning of September 14, MITC organized a meeting to discuss a relief package on tuition fees in the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021. The college will halve tuition fees for all new students, and others who get free tuition costs based on exemption policies of the government will receive one million VND/ individual. For the second-year and third-year students, they will get a 20% tuition fee discount. The college will also offer learners from poor households computers to support online learning. Besides, 50 students in difficult circumstances due to the pandemic will receive 1 million VNĐ/ person. MITC will also award five full scholarships to new students who have a total score of over 18 in the last National high school graduation exam. And students returning from Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces will be gifted ten full scholarships worth more than 300 million. Meanwhiles, the school will also consider applications for the full tuition fee waivers or debts of students experiencing financial hardship.

With the motto of Accompanying learners to school, empowering youth, and paving the way for glory, the college hopes this practical and meaningful relief package will spread across Viet Nam. It will encourage more and more higher education institutions to carry out their various support programs for students. Therefore, learners will get more opportunities to continue their learning, which help them choose a career suitable for passion and competence, contributing to the construction of the homeland in particular and the country in general.
