In celebration of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11/1982 – 20/11/2024), Mien Trung Industry and Trade College (MITC) successfully organized a STEAM Experience and Product Exhibition Day (STEAM Day). This was not just an exciting scientific playground but also an opportunity for MITC to affirm its advanced educational philosophy: “Liberating Education – Practical Connection – Creative Capacity”.

A Meaningful Playground, Spreading Educational Philosophy

The STEAM Day was organized to ignite passion for scientific and technological creativity among students. Through experiential activities, students not only develop creative capabilities but also enhance life skills and teamwork spirit. This was also an opportunity for MITC to spread its distinctive educational values to the community, while providing students a platform to exchange knowledge and creative ideas, expanding opportunities for learning and personal development.

The event honorably welcomed leaders from the Education Department, leaders of Phu Hoa district secondary schools, along with a large number of students from local secondary schools. Additionally, the day was attended by the school’s faculty and staff, project teams, and a large number of MITC students.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc – Vice Rector and Organizing Committee Head, shared: “The STEAM Day is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their creative passion. Through this event, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc hopes to spread the spirit of proactive, creative learning and encourage students to boldly realize their scientific ideas.”

Over two months of preparation, the faculty and students of the General Education Department worked tirelessly, bringing remarkable success to the event.

Outstanding Creative Product

Scoring the STEAM model products was a highlight of the event, with scientific and technological creations highly evaluated for their applicability and breakthrough ideas. The final results recognized outstanding contributions from the teams: 3 Encouragement Awards went to: Earthquake warning model using vibration sensors, mini handheld dust collector, and automatic LED control circuit model. Third Prize was awarded to the Ho Chi Minh President’s Mausoleum model. Second Prize went to the reproduction of the Dam San image from the epic poem using paper and paint.

The STEAM Day left a profound impression, not just through creative products but also through the dynamic, creative spirit of the younger generation. Through this event, MITC continues to affirm its pioneering role in building a modern educational environment, connecting with practice and comprehensively developing student capabilities.
