Innovation and global integration, along with sustainable development, have become top priorities for vocational education institutions in Vietnam. Mien Trung Industry and Trade College (MITC) has emerged as a bright spot in promoting scientific research and creative entrepreneurship. With its strategic vision and notable achievements, MITC not only contributes to local economic development but also opens new directions in vocational training and education.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Driving Force for Local Economic Development
The Business Incubation and Innovation Center, established in 2018, aims to support entrepreneurial ideas of students both within and outside the province to become reality.
Since 2018, MITC has established the Business Incubation and Innovation Center as one of the pioneering units supporting students and businesses in and outside Phu Yen province to realize creative ideas. Through this center, to date, more than 100 startup projects have been supported from idea formation to practical implementation, helping improve competitiveness for both individuals and organizations. Combined with implementing tasks under Project 844, MITC has built an innovative startup ecosystem with many practical contributions:
- Provided communication support for over 40 startups, helping creative ideas reach the market and community
- Organized more than 20 conferences at various levels, creating space for academic exchange and resource networking for creative startups
Scientific Research – Foundation for Sustainable Development
MITC signed a cooperation agreement on science, technology and innovation with the Department of Science and Technology of Phu Yen at Techfest Phu Yen 2024.
In addition to starting a business, MITC also considers scientific research as a core strategy to achieve long-term goals. In the period from 2017 to now,
MITC has achieved proud achievements Implementing 40 scientific research projects and 101 initiatives, including 4 projects at the Ministry of Industry and Trade level.
In particular, MITC is implementing a State-level project with a focus on designing and manufacturing surveillance robots, sanitation for maintenance of 220kV lines. This is a great step, demonstrating MITC’s ability to apply technology and solve practical social problems. Thus, the University’s scientific research activities not only serve training but also promote technology transfer, opening up opportunities for cooperation with domestic and foreign businesses and organizations. Participating in Techfest Phu Yen 2024 – Affirming its pioneering role.

At Phu Yen Province’s Innovation and Startup Festival 2024 – Techfest Phu Yen 2024, MITC continues to affirm its role by bringing 2 booths with 23 exemplary products and solutions from scientific research and incubation projects. MITC’s presence at Techfest Phu Yen 2024 once again emphasizes the school’s pioneering role in promoting creativity and sustainable development. With two product display booths, MITC not only introduces research achievements but also creates opportunities for exchange, cooperation, and spreading creative values to the community.
Building an Open Education – Creative Research – Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
Based on established foundations, MITC is aiming to develop a comprehensive ecosystem that harmoniously combines education, research, and entrepreneurship. In this ecosystem, elements are seamlessly integrated in the following areas:
- Open Training: Developing practical learning programs that help learners acquire both knowledge and necessary skills for the modern work environment.
- Application of Science and Technology: Promoting highly applicable research topics, focusing on areas where the locality has strengths and issues that need solutions.
- Sustainable Startup Support: Strengthening mentoring programs, skills training, and financial connections for startup projects.
The ecosystem model not only meets labor market demands but also creates greater added value for the community through technology transfer and promoting creative entrepreneurship spirit.
Mien Trung Industry and Trade College has proven that by effectively exploiting potential in scientific research and creative entrepreneurship, vocational education can become an important driver for socio-economic development. The school’s outstanding achievements not only reflect the efforts of an educational institution but also convey a strong message about the value of combining science, creativity, and education.
