On the morning of March 23rd, at Nghinh Phong tower, the Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee organized the Expanded Phu Yen Cross-Country Race 2025. The race aimed to promote community running for health and assess athletic training for track and field athletes in the region. With the participation of 2,000 athletes from various areas of the province, this year’s event marked a vibrant atmosphere and determined competitive spirit among the participants.
Athletes competed in three distances: 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km. Besides professional runners, the race also attracted numerous grassroots athletes, contributing to spreading the spirit of physical fitness in the community. Among the participants, Tran Quang Hien, a student from the 45th Electronics College Class at the Central Industrial College, delivered an outstanding performance by winning first place in the 10 km race. Hailing from Dong Hoa district, the young Quang Hien demonstrated his athletic prowess by closely tracking his opponents throughout the race, maintaining a stable pace and rational strategy. With 500 meters remaining, Hien suddenly accelerated powerfully, overtaking his competitors to cross the finish line in the lead.
Sharing about his victory, Hien could not hide his joy and pride: “This award is the result of continuous effort, a testament to the spirit and youth of MITC students. As soon as I learned about the race, I set a goal to conquer it and developed a disciplined training plan to achieve the best performance.”
Before participating in the race, Quang Hien spent considerable time training, improving his physical fitness and speed. He regularly ran every morning, developing endurance and refining techniques to compete at his best. This success is not just a personal milestone but also evidence of persistent, tenacious athletic spirit.
