Over the years, Mien Trung Industry and Trade College (MITC) has not only affirmed its position through quality training but has also risen strongly in intellectual competitions, especially the National Robocon contest – one of the most prestigious technology innovation competitions in Vietnam.

In 2024, the MITC Robocon team excellently advanced to the quarterfinals (1/8) of the National Robocon – a proud achievement, affirming the remarkable growth of MITC students in the field of technological innovation. This is the result of persistent training and continuous creativity year after year. Each year, the school organizes a school-level Robocon creativity competition to discover and select outstanding creative ideas, creating a solid foundation for teams entering the national arena.

Sharing about the preparation process for the competition, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vien – Design Advisor for Robot models and programming of the MITC Robocon team said: “Each year, the school-level Robocon creativity competition attracts about 25 teams, each with an average of 10 members. Students have about 3 months to conceptualize, design, program, and complete robot products. Year by year, the skills and creative spirit of MITC students have grown distinctly.”

Behind each solid step forward of the MITC Robocon team is the quiet but extremely important accompaniment from the teaching staff. Not just knowledge transmitters, MITC teachers also ignite the creative spirit and create an ideal learning environment for students to freely explore and research. This support has helped MITC students not only achieve high results in competitions but also comprehensively develop necessary skills for the future.

Additionally, the MITC Robocon Club has become a shared home for students passionate about technology, ready to take on creative challenges. Each year, MITC also organizes exchange activities and cooperation with high schools, aiming to spark passion for technology in students from an early age.

Moving into 2025, the MITC Robocon team continues to participate in the National Robocon for the third time, with the goal of setting new achievements. It is known that this year’s ABU Robocon’s main theme is basketball. This is an interesting and challenging theme, promising to bring spectacular performances from the competing teams. Fans can look forward to intelligently designed robots with the ability to move flexibly and execute basketball techniques such as shooting, passing, and even scoring from a distance. Currently, the team has completed the running base and ball throwing mechanism for the robots. The team has also hastily completed the practice court and is actively training in preparation for the preliminary round scheduled from June 4 to June 6, 2025, with the finals from June 8 to June 13, 2025, at Ninh Binh Province Sports Arena. In particular, this year’s competition will have an international highlight: the ABU Robocon round, organized in Mongolia, bringing regional competition and exchange opportunities for the Vietnamese team.

With three consecutive years participating in the National Robocon competition, MITC is gradually asserting its unique mark in the field of technical and technological education. The success of the Robocon team is not only the result of students’ continuous efforts but also strong strategic support from the school leadership.
