Without fanfare or ostentation, Mai Hoang Duy – a final year student in class CD CK45A, majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology at the Mien Trung Industry and Trade College (MITC), impresses with his calm demeanor and outstanding academic achievements. Hoang Duy is one of the students who received a full scholarship from the school and has maintained excellent performance throughout the semesters.
Recently, Duy was also one of the notable faces participating in the “Journey Back to Roots” program – an experiential activity for comprehensively outstanding students at the school. For Hoang Duy, the trip not only carried the meaning of exploring history but was also truly a journey of “opening one’s heart.”
Hoang Duy shared: “I’m an introvert, but through this trip, I found myself more open and better able to integrate with others. We visited historical sites, met many new friends, participated in activities together, played games that helped us develop a stronger sense of unity, and didn’t feel tired despite participating in many activities throughout the day. The atmosphere of connection and comfort made me truly very happy.”

Having visited historical sites such as the Luong Van Chanh temple, Nui Nhan (Falcon Mountain), and the No-Number Ship historical site, Hoang Duy felt a deeper appreciation for the historical values of his homeland and the spirit of unity within the community. Such real-life experiences, according to Hoang Duy, are something that books cannot replace.
Choosing a Major Based on Family Guidance and Bonding Through Passion
Learning about MITC through the recommendation of a cousin who had studied there, Hoang Duy quickly found interest in Mechanical Engineering Technology – a field that requires precision, patience, and high technical thinking abilities.
“At first, I chose Mechanics because my cousin guided me towards it, but the more I studied, the more I found it suited me. I enjoy tinkering; when I create a product with my own hands, I feel very happy.”
Duy believes that the secret to studying well doesn’t need to be overly sophisticated. Simply being diligent, persistent, and taking time to review lessons after each class will make everything gradually become easier and more effective.
Studying Mechanics at MITC – A Solid Foundation for the Future
At MITC, students in Mechanical Engineering Technology not only study at school but also participate in practical experiences at businesses
At MITC, students in Mechanical Engineering Technology don’t just learn formal theory but also get to practice on modern equipment such as CNC machines, CAD/CAM systems, 3D mechanical design… The training program focuses on practical skills and craftsmanship, while closely aligning with recruitment needs in the fields of industrial manufacturing, automotive, mechanics…
With the solid foundation provided at school, Hoang Duy has set a goal to find a job in his field after graduation to learn more from real-world experience and develop long-term in the mechanical engineering industry – a field that is constantly innovating and developing strongly today.
