On the afternoon of April 28, at Hall B2, Campus 2, MienTrung Industry and Trade College held a Workshop on Innovation in teaching methods and assessment of learners suitable for Gen Z, the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and liberal education.

Prominent attendees at the program included Master, Doctor Pham Van Giao, the Director of the Institute of Psychological Science – Education, and Dr. Tran Kim Quyen, who holds the positions of Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council, and Principal of the school. The event also witnessed the presence of the Board of Directors, teachers serving as deputy heads of central departments, as well as academic advisors of the classes. Doctor Pham Van Giao, titled “Characteristics of Generation Z (Gen Z) and the necessary adjustments in teaching and learner support.” This session explored the distinctive traits of Generation Z and highlighted crucial areas that require attention in terms of pedagogy and learner care.
Furthermore, MA. Huynh Manh Nhan, Head of the Quality Management and Scientific Research Department, shared valuable insights in a presentation titled “Trends in technology usage among Generation Z (Gen Z) and recommendations for transforming teaching methods, testing, and assessing learners.” This session delved into the evolving technology preferences of Generation Z and provided practical suggestions for adapting instructional approaches, evaluating student progress, and incorporating technology effectively into the educational process.

The workshop further featured presentations on important topics, including “Teaching according to the appropriate competency approach for Generation Z (Gen Z)” delivered by Master Bui Manh Tuan, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. This session focused on adopting teaching methodologies that align with the unique competencies and characteristics of Generation Z learners.
Additionally, Dr. Tran Kim Quyen delivered a speech on “Deploying liberal arts education in vocational education training.” Her presentation explored the integration of liberal arts education principles into vocational training programs, emphasizing the value of a well-rounded education that encompasses both technical skills and a broader range of knowledge.
Furthermore, the workshop provided a platform to recognize the valuable contributions made by teachers through their teaching practices. It also provided an opportunity for participants to express their concerns, share their opinions, and discuss challenges, difficulties, and problems that require resolution. The workshop fostered an open and collaborative environment for the exchange of ideas and experiences among the participants.
