Formerly, Mientrung Industry and Trade was known as Geological School II, established on August 1st, 1978 by Decision no. 281-QD/TC, which belonged to General Department of Geology. This is the first milestone in the establishment of the school with the mission of training geological drilling technicians and technicians of geology, geodesy and cartography.

On December 21st 1991, the Geological School II was renamed as Tuy Hoa Industry Technical School in accordance with the Decision no. 575 QD/CNNg-TC of Ministry of Industry with a multi-disciplinary training mission to meet the demand for human resources in the Central coastal region and the Central Highlands. Many new training disciplines such as Electricity (1991), Mechanical Engineering (1992) have been developed and gradually asserted their position of training.

On September 9th 2005, the Tuy Hoa Industry Technical School was upgraded to Tuy Hoa Industrial College by the Decision no. 5073/QĐ-BGD&ĐT dated September 9th, 2005 by the Prime Minister of Ministry of Education and Training and by the Decision no. 3339/QĐ-BCN dated October 13th, 2005 by the Prime Minister of Ministry of Industry (now Ministry of Industry and Trade) regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of Tuy Hoa Industrial College.

Since February 2nd 2018, the name of Tuy Hoa Industrial College has been changed into MienTrung Industry and Trade College as the Decision no.122/QĐ-LĐTBXH by the Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs.

Over 40 years of building and development, the school has been striving constantly to diversify and expand its training scale; step by step to improve the quality of training and become the training institution receiving the trust of many businesses, parents and society.

Up to now, the school has trained tens of thousands of technicians and workers, contributing to the industrialization and modernization of the country (including over 20 technicians for Lao PDR). This labor force is working in all regions of the country, many of whom have become key managers and experts.

Currently, there are about 4000 students at 02 training campuses; modern facilities and teachers with high professional qualifications. The school is striving to become a high quality vocational training school and training programs meet regional and international standards.
