February arrives, and with it comes military recruitment season, with enlistment ceremonies creating a bustling atmosphere throughout the country. On this journey, students from the Mien Trung Industry and Trade College (MITC) also participate, continuing the patriotic tradition, ready to fulfill their sacred duty to the homeland. They don the soldier’s uniform with pride and determination, carrying the knowledge and skills they’ve learned to confidently enter the military environment.

Enlistment is not just about temporarily leaving the classroom but also an opportunity for MITC students to train themselves and apply their knowledge in practice. Understanding of technology, management, or soft skills accumulated during their studies becomes important preparation, helping them quickly adapt and complete their missions.

For example, information technology students can support their units in applying software for data management and information security. Students studying electrical electronics can apply their expertise to maintain and repair military equipment. Meanwhile, business administration and accounting students can participate in logistics and financial operations. Additionally, skills such as teamwork, communication, and presentation practiced in classrooms will also prove effective in the disciplined and highly collective environment of the military.

Growing Up During Military Service Days

Enlistment is not just a responsibility but also a process of personal development. Life in the military with its disciplined routine, team spirit, and rigorous challenges helps young people mature each day. Away from home and familiar school settings, they learn to be independent, face difficulties, and exceed their own limitations.

Le Ba Tuyen, a MITC Tourism Guidance student who recently completed his military service, shares: “The time in the military helped me develop willpower, perseverance, and mature significantly. Previously, I was quite shy, but this environment has helped me become stronger and more decisive. The knowledge learned at school helped me complete tasks more easily in the military environment. Upon discharge, I will continue to apply the qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in my future work.”

Experiences in the military not only equip young people with life skills but also help them better understand the value of camaraderie and patriotism. From night marches, training days in harsh weather, to moments shared with comrades – all become memorable experiences that forge willpower and a sense of responsibility.

Returning to Continue the Journey of Learning and Contributing

After completing their service, MITC students will return to the classroom to continue their unfinished dreams. But now, they have become more mature individuals with a stronger sense of discipline and responsibility.

The years spent in the military help MITC students realize that learning is not just a path to success but also a way to contribute more to society. With the disciplined habits they’ve developed, MITC students after discharge seriously pursue their goals while spreading the spirit of striving and the will to advance in their careers.

Message to Young People Before Their Departure

For young people preparing to enlist in general and MITC students in particular, this will be a challenging but meaningful journey. Be bold in taking steps, embrace new experiences, because each day in the military will bring valuable lessons.

No matter where you are or what you do, the spirit of learning and determination will always be the guiding compass helping you stand firm against all difficulties. See this as an opportunity to develop yourself, so that when you return, you are not only continuing your education but also ready to contribute to society.

The enlistment ceremony is not just the moment when young soldiers depart to protect the homeland but also marks their coming of age. Whether in the military or in the classroom, MITC students will always be resilient, passionate young people, contributing to the development of society and the country.
