Passing the public high-school entrance exam is a huge spiritual boost for 9- grade students, creating motivation and relieving the burden of tuition fees for them. However, only 2/3 of the students can pass the exam successfully, and whether the rest will have no opportunities to study? Will they become manual workers with unstable jobs? Of course, the answer is no.
According to Dr. Tran Kim Quyen, Rector of Mien Trung Industry and Trade College, all students who can not go to high schools have the opportunity to participate in the general education program at vocational schools without intuition fees. After three years of studying, they can take the high school graduation exam to continue to nurture the dream of going to college like other peers.

Student Tran Doan Tinh is an example. In 2018, after leaving his secondary school, Tinh enrolled in the 9+ program of MITC with a thought that why not simultaneously study vocational training and general education program to get a vocational degree and a high school diploma for free? And in the recent high school graduation exam, Tinh’s total score for university registration was 23.5, a desirable score for many peers. He desires to make the unfinished dream of being a university student come true.

Dr. Tran Kim Quyen said students studying in the school get tuition fee exemption, reduction, and scholarship policies based on national regulations. They can participate in soft skill courses such as foreign languages and start-ups. Furthermore, the students have chances to intern at big domestic and foreign enterprises. After threes years of studying, students will receive an additional vocational degree, and the school will help them apply for jobs.
