On the morning of August 28, MITC  held the final round of the 2021 start-up idea contest online.

The attendees included  Dr. Tran Kim Quyen, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council, MITC’s rector; Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong, Director of Hoang Long Vina Production and Trading Co., Ltd; Mr. Nguyen Nhat Tuan, Director of Kienlong Bank in the Central Region and Central Highlands of Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Director of FPT Telecom Joint Stock Company – Phu Yen Branch; experts in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation; and contestant groups.

Delivering his opening speech at the contest, Dr. Tran Kim Quyen emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship to Industry 4.0 in general and the start-up idea contest of Phu Yen in particular. The competition aroused start-up spirit and accelerated creativity, dynamic thought among students in the province. It also grabbed their attention to business activities. The event is also one of the annual activities that MITC’s Center for Business Incubation and Innovation has organized for the last years to connect experts, entrepreneurs, and innovators to develop the ecosystem of entrepreneurship, innovation for Phu Yen in general and the Central Region, Central Highlands in particular.

At the contest, five start-up business ideas were presented in turn by the contestant groups. Then, the competitors received valuable reviews and suggestions from the jury about their projects. Finally, the project of applying machine learning in face mask detection and reminder from students Nguyen Van Vinh and Nguyen Cong Thach excellently won the top prize. And they will represent the college to participate in the semi-final of the Startup Kite 2021- the national start-up idea contest, at the regional level.
